Hello all - just wanted to update some of what we've been doing. First of all, we now have (perhaps) an official logo:
At this point, through there may be some changes, the logo is pretty well set, along with the motto.
We are also in the process of determining what form we will take as a company - right now we're looking at a LLP or an S corp but we haven't ruled out nonprofit corp yet. That's what people in suits are for. :-)
The web site is in the planning and flowchart stages, and there is a 5 month timeline set up for key tasks and milestones in 4 separate 'tracks': legal, marketing, technical, and content. A preliminary large-scale budget for the next six months has also been drafted. Once we decide on the company structure, we'll file the DBA and start on the proper forms!
Very exciting times - our tentative launch date, fittingly, is 7/4/09. ;-)
I will be continuing to blog about the WePeople.org progress as well as my personal thoughts about all things political and current. Stay tuned...

Unbelievable. I swear I had this exact idea, except mine began as a place where people who wanted to could thank Obama. (This would, of course, ensure significant participation early on.) Instead of "One Idea at a Time," I had envisioned "A Place for Ideas".
